The future of web design, interface design, business and computer technology

I'm not much of a Microsoft fan, but I absolutely love their video presentation they had at this years TechFest. It shows their version of the future of computer technology, supposedly based on current active Microsoft projects. Essentially taking their Microsoft Surface product and integrating it everywhere. If you haven't seen Surface then check it out. It's essentially the future of how we will all interact with computers, and interface with technology.

I love this video because I like interface design and enjoy seeing other designers interpretations of technology design, layout, shapes and how objects move and interact. Will this be what our world looks like? I think it's awesome, but I guess only time will tell.

One thing they don't show in the video is how advertising will be integrated into this technology, which will change the way we do business and market to consumers. Take a look at the video below and I would love to hear your thoughts on it.

You can find out more about other Microsoft projects and check out more videos at their Labs website.

Very cool indeed. Very similar to the future user interface in Minority Report. Multitouch glass is already on the iphone. Electronic paper has been designed. So its not to far away. While prety the user interfaces are very ad hoc, so not sure there ever be quite like that.

Thats what it reminded me of also is Minority Report. I think Tom Cruise wore special gloves in the movie, so maybe thats the next phase. Of course this is Microsoft's interpretation of what it will look like, based on integrating their product. Which, in my opinion, makes it a commercial.
They didn't want to make it look futuristic, because then it would be harder to believe their technology could be integrated like they're presenting, but since this is based on using Microsoft tech then it might look exactly like this because they will design it.
